Ethiopia: the tower of fascinating attractions
Ethiopia, which is located in the east of Africa usually referred to as the horn, is truly the land of contrasts, extremes and a land of remote and wild places. Some of the highest and most stunning places on the African continent are found here in Ethiopia. For instance, the siemen mountain is one of Africans largest ranges, studded with at least a dozen peaks topping the 4000m mark, the African part of the Great Rift Valley that stretches from Syria to Mozambique through the eastern highlands and lowlands of Ethiopia, the Danakil depression is officially listed as the the hottest place on earth with an average 34-35 °C :with a strange lunar landscape studded with active volcanoes, malodorous sculpture –caked hot springs, solidified black lava flows, and vast salt-encrusted basins.
The amazing medieval rock-hewn churches of Lalibela which were chiseled out of a single volcanic red tuff and the admirable jobs of the excavators of the tigrian churches carved into relatively inaccessible cliff faces.
On the contrary to the north you can find a culture with its natural beauty in the southern part of Ethiopia, the women and men adorned with thick plaits of ochre-colored hair hanging down in a heavy fringe leather skirts decorated with cowries, the bull jumping ceremony of the hammer society and their appealing cultural dances and so much more are among the wonders of Ethiopia.
